We collect personal information in three ways: (a) information you provide directly, (b) information collected automatically through your use of the Site, and (c) information we receive from third parties.
Information You Provide
- Account information: name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), and optional profile details.
- Order information: billing name, billing address, email address, phone number (if provided), purchased products, and order history.
- Payment information: processed directly by PayPal. We do not store, archive, or retain credit card numbers or PayPal account credentials on our servers.
- Communications: information you send us through contact forms, support requests, product reviews, or email.
- Marketing subscriptions: email address and, where provided, phone number for newsletter, product, and SMS communications.
- Gift card recipient information: name and email address of any recipient you designate when purchasing a gift card.
- Wishlist data: products you save to your wishlist while logged into your account.
- Instrument Finder responses: answers you provide to the quiz and the recommendations returned to you.
Information Collected Automatically
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, time spent on pages, click paths, and timestamps.

- Session recordings and heatmaps: we use Microsoft Clarity to record anonymized session interactions (mouse movement, clicks, scroll depth) to understand how the Site is used.
- Shopping activity: cart contents, abandoned cart status, and order attribution data used to attribute sales to traffic sources.
Information From Third Parties
We may receive limited information from payment providers (to confirm a transaction) and from advertising platforms (to measure ad performance). We do not purchase personal data from data brokers.

- Account information: for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period after closure for legal and dispute resolution purposes.
- Marketing consent records: until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent, plus a limited period for proof-of-consent records.
- Abandoned cart data: up to 30 days after cart abandonment.
- Support communications: up to 3 years from the last contact.
- Website analytics: as set out in our Cookie Policy.
After the retention period ends, data is deleted or anonymized.

Notice on “sale” and “sharing”: we do not sell personal information for money. However, under California’s CPRA and similar laws, the use of certain advertising cookies (such as the Meta Pixel) may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out of this sharing at any time through the cookie consent banner on our Site, by enabling the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser, or by emailing [email protected].
Authorized agents. California residents may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on their behalf. We will require proof of authorization.
9. SMS Marketing Details
If you opt in to SMS communications, we use your phone number to send marketing messages, abandoned cart reminders, and transactional updates. Messages are sent through Klaviyo. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.
- Reply STOP to any marketing message to opt out.
- Reply HELP for help, or contact [email protected].
- SMS opt-in data is not shared with unaffiliated third parties for their own marketing.

10. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the Site, measure performance, and deliver marketing. Full details, including the specific cookies used and how to manage your preferences, are in our Cookie Policy.
11. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Because there is no common industry standard for “Do Not Track” browser signals, we do not currently respond to DNT. Where required by law, we honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as an opt-out of the “sale” and “sharing” of personal information.
12. Automated Decision-Making
We do not engage in automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you. Product recommendations (including those from the Instrument Finder) are not binding decisions and do not affect your legal rights or access to our products.

The Site is not directed to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
14. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including TLS/SSL encryption for data in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, and managed hosting with Cloudways. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a security incident affecting your personal data, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
15. Third-Party Links and Social Media
The Site contains links to third-party websites and embedded content from platforms such as YouTube, SoundCloud, Vimeo, Facebook, and Instagram. Your interactions with those services are governed by their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them before providing personal information.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top indicates when it was most recently revised. Material changes will be announced through the Site or by email where appropriate. Your continued use of the Site after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
