Emergence Audio is a sample library company founded by multi-award-winning film composer and platinum streaming artist Michael Vignola and spouse Erica. We Support Artists

At Emergence Audio, supporting artists is the foundation of everything we do.

We collaborate with musicians, composers, sound designers, and visual artists at every stage of our creative process. From recording sessions to interface design, from custom artwork to demo compositions, our instruments are built through the hands of real people.


Here’s how we actively support the creative community:


  • We hire musicians and instrumentalists to record original performances for our libraries.


  • We pay royalties to artists who contribute to our instruments, ensuring they share in the success.


  • We work with graphic designers and editors to shape the look and feel of our products.


  • We commission composers to create demos that showcase the emotional range of our sounds.


  • We prioritize quality and authenticity, always valuing artistic contribution.


We occasionally use AI-assisted tools to support parts of our visual process, but never in the creation of our instruments. We see technology as a tool, not a replacement, for human creativity.


As a small, independent company (and artists ourselves), we believe in uplifting artists and fostering collaboration.

Michael Vignola (he/him), Founder

Mike Vignola, a native of New York City, is a distinguished film composer and the visionary founder of Emergence Audio. Renowned for his ability to blend classical, ambient, and electronic music with intricate sound design, Vignola creates immersive auditory landscapes that captivate audiences worldwide. A self-taught and multi-award-winning composer, he has earned 12 Best Soundtrack accolades, with his compositions amassing over 6 billion streams globally. Since 2016, Vignola has contributed to more than 150 diverse media projects, showcasing his relentless pursuit of innovation in sound.

Mike’s connection to music has been a constant throughout his life. Even as a child, he found fascination in the hum of a window AC unit, drawn to the subtle frequencies and patterns it created. By age 10, he was teaching himself piano, later picking up the guitar at 15 and performing with indie bands by 17. In 2006, his musical journey took him on tour with “The Vans Warped Tour,” marking the beginning of a prolific career. Over the years, his music has been synced to powerful storytelling moments in projects featured on platforms like MAX, Netflix, and Discovery, embodying his deep commitment to storytelling through music and pushing the boundaries of sound design.

Erica Vignola (she/her), Co-Founder

Erica has been part of Emergence Audio from the very beginning, helping lay the groundwork for what the company would become. Today, she continues to contribute creatively behind the scenes.
